How can I make my hair curly without using heat?

I'm going to camp over the summer and cannot bring hairdryers or hair straighteners, and i'm trying to find a way to wear my hair without using them.

My hair is neither curly or straight, but i have parts that are very curly and parts that are flippy and straight. I want to embrace those little curls since i would think it would be easier to make the rest of my hair curly rather than make them straight.

how can i curl my hair with only products? How can I make my hair curly without using heat?
oHHH hold on youtube :D

i love this girl :D !!

theres more on youtube just look around

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WoZ2QGq0n鈥?/a>How can I make my hair curly without using heat?
srunch it!! :)
If you don't have curlers take sections of your hair (you pick the size of the sections) and twist them at night. Then hold the twists in places with hair pins. You can lay on your hair and everything. Then, in the morning when you take the twists out, your hair will be curly.

PS: you could also wet and braid your hair at night and then take it out in the morning, but I don't know if you want to take your chance with that since it's summer camp and the sun may frizz it out.
mouse, put mouse in your hair and scrunch it.

some people dont even need mouse, just water.

just scrunch it until it is dry or close to being dry,

or you could wear it in french braids and take them out when your hair dries, it will be wavy and cute :]
Cut one of those curling serums or mouses, and scrunch a generous amount into your hair while it's wet, and top off with some hairspray, let it dry. Leave it the way it is for a ';wet look';, or run a brush through it a little for a curlyier, dry look.

Also, braiding your hair before bed, especially when it's a little damp, and leaving it in overnight is a good way to get curls, or redefine them without heat. This is a great method also because you can get different kinds of curls by braiding small braids, large ones, or different styles of braids on different parts of your head for different kinds of curls when you wake up.

Try youtube for tutorials on different kinds of braids.
omg i know how u feel girl my hairs just like that! ok heres two ways

CURLY HAIR- if u can get ur hair wet some way or another spray bottle... shower... any way... bring mouse and gel!!!! when ur hairs wet apply gel/mouse to it and scrunch! apply as much as u like to get more curls or less....

WAVY #1- this is just like the scrunchy hair but dry! but just with mouse! and scrunch for a beachy wave.

WAVY #2- b4 u go to bed seperate ur hair in to 2 sections (ear to ear/ top and bbottom than to each pice twirl it to make a bun. it may look funny but when u take it out in the moringing = waves
you can try frizz-ease dream curls curl perfecting spray by john frieda collection i got it from walgreens
hair curlers//rollers

%26amp;%26amp; hair spray
you have hair just like mine! ok well what I do is at night before I go to bed I take a shower and then when I get out of the shower I comb my hair (but I don't worry about getting every tangle out) and then I put jell in my hair and bend over and scrunch it into my hair all over and then i put my hair into a bun on top of my head. It works for me every time. You can just by a cheep jell from like walmart or something. Or you could go to a salon and buy a curl cream. It's more expensive though.
use curlers O__o
scrunch it.

use a gel, and hairspray.,
braid your hair ..leave it over night while wet its a rally preety effect ... little braids .,, great for out doors
You can use curlers when your hair is wet.

Then just leave them in, maybe use some hair spray.

That should work for you.
put rollers in overnight.

they're extremely uncomfortable.

if you put them in when your hair is wet, but the morning, it will look like really curly, but combing or brushing them down with relax the curls.

then you can use hair spray or a styling product of your choice to hold them in place.

good luck.

How can I protect my hair from all the damage I do to it?

When I get up in the morning I either straighten or curl my hair and I do it most mornings. Sometimes when I get to school though my friend says my hair smells burned. Sure enough, it smells like it's been scorched. I turned my hair straighteners down from 230 to 190 degrees (and the same with my curlers) and it didn't make any difference. I now use heat protector spray and it still sometimes smells scorched. What can I do?How can I protect my hair from all the damage I do to it?
It's too hot for your hair. Use it in quick motions so your hair does not heat up too much. Before you go for another stroke fluff your hair to cool it down. Observe so you'll know the next time how much is too much heat for your hair.

Be careful! You might do permanent obious, ugly damage to your hair. How can I protect my hair from all the damage I do to it?
haha, just stop using all these tools and use moose or hair products

then once a week use neutrogena anti residue shampoo to get rid of all the stuff left over from products
get redken heavy cream treatment, it repairs hair heapsss

and use a good shampoo and conditioner like paul mitchell or biosilk, they are more expensive but not in the long run because they last so much longer as you only have to use a small blob the size of your thumb print. and if you feel that you dont have enough product to wash your hair, youre wrong, your hair isnt meant to feel slimy when you wash it and condition it with these shampoos and conditioners.

Nice hair styles??????

Ok so I have black layer hair, left side swept bangs, and permed straight hair. I really really need a good hair style tomorrow because I am going out with my crush and I do not want to appear plain, but also not too fancy and weird. Please if there is any nice hairstyles and INSTRUCTIONS, and if the hairstyle requires curly hair, I only have a hair straightener, so would you show me how to curl hair with a straightener? Please quick thanks.Nice hair styles??????
Yes, curly hair looks great on special occasions! Umm, i dont know how to curl hair with a straightener, so i hope this helps:

Which hair straightener is best to get from Target?

Just to mention: I live in Australia so it's kinda different. I dunno if they have the same products or not, I'm not sure.

I'm thinking of getting a hair straightener and I'm not sure which one to get. I was looking at the hair product section, and they had cheap flat irons, but at the same time expensive flat irons.

Yeah, my hair is straight, but you know, sometimes your hair isn't perfectly straight, and you wanna hold the hair in place. Please don't mention that I already have straight hair and getting a hair straightener is absolutely useless, because I think it's not. Straightening your hair doesn't look exactly the same as how my hair looked like in the first place. I also wanna curl my hair with it as well.

Note:

- I want something not too expensive, but really good and safe.

- I want a ceramic hair straightener.

- I want a flat iron suitable for my hair.

- I have black, straight hair.

Also, can you give me some tips to do when straightening hair?

Thanks to everyone who answers!

Please no bad comments.

Hope you can help,

Byee!

GHD's?

Yes they're expensive but they work well.

They also come with a dvd to show you how to curl and such.

But if your hair is striaght anyway, just go for some cheapish ones because they will probably give the same effect, except they won't curl aswell.. Maybe get some curlers for that?

Or try some hairstyles not using straighteners, like curling.

The bedhead one..

Its 69.99 but its not bad for that good of a

bedhead or wet to straight.
vidal sassoon - wet to dry, no need to dry hair first and no need for a hair dryer. this ceramic hair straightener isn't bad for your hair. Although this does retail for approx $120.00, but lookout for this one on sale. there are special serums that you can buy to put into your hair before and after using your hair straightener, which both helps with moisture, and to keep your hair smooth and straight - this is my tip for when straightening your hair.

I hope this helps
1. Wash with a regular shampoo that will remove buildup or at least prevent it.

2. Apply a little bit of straightening gel before blow drying and in between towel drying.

3. Blow dry by taking sections at a time and with a flat brush- it takes a while to master exactly how to straighten accurately but it's worth it.
Best thing you could possibly do is take your self to Kohls and buy the classic CHI straightner. I dont swear buy it, but its gotten very good reviews. SEDU's are very good also. Just about as good as a CHI. Solia's are above the two, also very good. GHD, i'm not very sure about it but alot of people swear by it and have good reviews. Folica.com can tell you all about it.

How to straighten your hair with out a straightener for guys?

ok so when i get out of the shower i flick my hair and then my hair curls and its the ends of my hair to and i cant use a straightener because i don't have the money to but yeah any advice please. How to straighten your hair with out a straightener for guys?
Blowdry it.How to straighten your hair with out a straightener for guys?
don't let your hair dry naturally, as this is what is making your hair curl at the ends and probably making it frizz up.

blow-dry your hair while brushing and styling it and this should solve your problem : )

How can I curl my hair without the use of a curling iron, rollers, or a straightener? Pics Included!?

Okay here goes:

My hair is actually naturally very thick and really wavy...almost to the point of curly. Anyway, I got my hair cut to where it has lots and lots of layers. So this means I need to straighten it everyday. I'm getting quite bored with this. I can do flips with my straightener and even curl my hair with it, however I am not very good at it and have tried every tutorial on youtube to get it right. I do own a LOT of curling irons however they are all the wrong size/do not work. I have two 1.5'; curling irons, one 1/4'; curling iron, a 1'; curling iron that doesn't work, and a spiral curling iron that gets caught in my hair everytime i use it. Lately I have been looking for new things to do with my hair, and I saw a hairstyle I would like to try but have no idea how to do it without the proper tools. I thought about rollers however my hair gets very very poofy when it is in rollers. How can I do this hairstyle, without the use of a curling iron, rollers, or my straightener (seeing as how I can't use it very well)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k57daS_c

this should help. This is how I learned! How to curl your hair perfectly with straighteners ?
The thinner the straightener, the better the curl you are going to get. And you use it like a curling iron just curling smaller sections at a time then you normally would.

... I'd go buy a curling iron though. How to curl your hair perfectly with straighteners ?
Yes. Part the hair into much smaller sections, make sure the iron is HOT and as you're approaching the ends of the hair just flick your wrist to curl the hair. There!
umm...i always use a straightener to straighten hair and a curler to curl hair. I've tried using my curler to straighten my hair before, but I don't know how good a curl I'd get with my straightener. Good luck!
U HAVE THE PERSON THAT GAVE U THE LINK FOR YOUTUBE- THAT'S EXACTLY HOW TO DO IT! IT'S EASY IT JUST TAKES SOME GETTING USED TO AND SOME TIME.

Can you curl with the VS Sassoon Goddess hair straightener??

like, you know how you can curl with GHD's and other hair straighteners..

well i was wondering if it's possible to curl with the goddess, and does it work??

:)Can you curl with the VS Sassoon Goddess hair straightener??
All you need to achieve a curly look with your straightening iron is

hairspray, a straightening iron, hair clips and Velcro rollers.

1- Section your hair into three sections: left side, right side and back. In each section, separate off a top and bottom. You can use hair clips to keep them separate. However, don't clip back every section. For example, if you are going to tackle your left side first then only clip that section back and leave the rest of your hair down.

2- Start at the bottom of the section. Take a strip of hair about an inch in width and spray it with hairspray.

3- Clamp your straightening iron to the root of your hair. Beware not to burn your scalp, by getting the iron as close to the root of your hair as you can without burning yourself. Then wrap the loose hair in the strand around the straightening iron.

4-Hold the hair in the position for a few seconds then release by pulling the iron downward. Repeat this step until your entire head is done.

5- If you have fine hair you will want to use Velcro rollers after you have released your strand of hair from the straightening iron. All you need to do is take the roller and wrap the hair around it just like you did when you wrapped your hair around the straightening iron. Be sure to roll the hair sideways in the roller, not under. This gives the hair more curl. Once the hair is in the roller, spray some hairspray on the hair.

6-Once the hair is completely done with the curling process you may find you need to go back with the straightening iron to add curl to any ends that didn鈥檛 get as tight of a curl as you would like. Can you curl with the VS Sassoon Goddess hair straightener??

How do I make my hair have more body?

My hair is pretty much pin straight and I Iove it b/c it's not a pain to deal with but I get soo bored with it sometimes! I have layers and side swept bangs, how can I put more body in it? I already use Instantly Thick hair conditioner by Marc Anthony and volumizer spray by Garnier Fructis but that only helps a little. I don't use thickening shampoo bacause I use a color treated shampoo. Is there a such thing as shampoo or conditioner that puts curl in your hair? Or another product that does? I do curl my hair with curlers but I just don't feel like doing that all the time. Also, are there different levels of perms? I was thinking about getting a perm but I don't want it super curly, I just want some big, loose, messy curls that are a little wavy. Also, a lot of my friends have curly hair and straighten it (just with a hair straightener that straightens their hair until it gets wet again), if I got a perm could I straighten it sometimes? All answers are welcome, thanks in advance! How do I make my hair have more body?
I have stick straight hair, and I permed it twice over the past 4 years. It doesn't come out very easily. Now I have finally cut it out. It wasn't bad though. I actually enjoyed being about to do different things to it. If you do do that though, ask them not to wrap the ends. It looks very cute when its all done. Yes you can straighten it too. It might leave you with a little more volume too. My only problem was when it grew out I had curls that started at my ears! How do I make my hair have more body?
I wouldn't suggest perming your hair, it could damgage it a lot. I have naturally curly hair and it's a pain to deal with. Do you use hair spray? There is one by paul mitchell (it's purple) it's the ';body'; collection, it works pretty good. Flip your head over, and spray it all over, but not too much. I know its hard to do things with pin straight hair....but u should feel lucky, because it could be so much worse. Good luck.

  • How do you curl fine, shoulder length hair?

I have thin, shoulder-length hair that's cut into layers. I've tried using a straightener and curling iron to curl my hair but had no success. I would like to try it with rollers. Would that work? If so, how do I use them? I've never done this before so please, a step-by-step would be appreciated. Also, is there a particular brand/set I should think about buying?

Thank you all in advance! How do you curl fine, shoulder length hair?
I use hot rollers. Start at the top and work your way down.comb up a section and wrap it around the hair. If you put in a lot of curlers it will be curly. For straighter hair use fewer with more hair on each curler.Another trick I use is to put my hair in a ponytail and curl the ends. It only takes a few minutes and works well. Use Pantene curls spray gel. When you take your hair out of hot rollers let it cool before you comb or brush it. If you want big, loose curls just run your fingers through it. If you brush it a lot you will lose the curl. How do you curl fine, shoulder length hair?
You want to choose a curling iron that is made of ceramic for less damage to the hair - just like the chi flat iron. To keep lasting curls first you want to run the curling iron down the section you are going to curl to heat the hair. Then take the section and spray with hairspray. Curl the section of hair (it might smoke a bit from the product - don't be alarmed) and let cool don't touch or brush the hair until its cool to the touch. Then lightly with your fingers style the curls and apply hair spray again. It should last all day long!
Well instead of using a curling iron and burn your hair I suggest scrunching it! I also have thin hair and I scrunch my hair all the time! and I love it because it makes my hair have those natural looking spiral curls (: and when I scrunch it I use herbal essences scrunching gel which works great!
i would try a regular curling iron. i would stay away from conair though because they dont seem to work that well. buy any kind of volumizing shampoo. if you do buy just a regular curling iron, turn the heat seeting up all the way and leave it in your hair for an extra 3 seconds than you normally would. use hairspray too! lots and lots! good luck with it!

if your hair is curly and strong and your only straighten the bck quickly and doing it everyday then I suggest a heat defence, indolla have a great one it comes in a spritz and its great its not to oily and it gives your hair a great shine. Ring your local hairdressing salon to see if they stock a heat defence it will set you back any where form 13-30 bucks depending on the brand good liuck.I need advice on hair straightener?
Go to Sallys beauty salon and buy beyond the zone its orange. Its really good for use with a straighting iron. Also they sell a straightner that is $29. that is great or conair has a wet to straight, straightner for about $20. that is also great. Too much of the spray will make your hair oily, try mostly on the ends.
I use Chi- silk infusion, it makes your hair soft and healthy looking. You use it before you straighten your hair, it is expensive but will last a long time because you only need a small dab to pull through your hair.
mate, don’t worry about that spray till later on.

Ive been straightening my hair for the last 2 years and I only started using the spray this year. Just make sure that your hair is completely dry before you straighten it and that you condition your hair. Pink Hair Straightener with rubber tip, what brand are these?

In my local shopping centre in essex i came across a small stool selling hair straighteners which can also be used to curl your hair. There was a man demonstrating how to use them and was explaining to me that there was a rubber tip on the end which helped create the curl. He also showed me that no matter what the straighteners would not burn anything. I really want a pair because he did a straightening demon on my hair which left it feeling so soft but they were 拢90 so before i pay that i wanted to see if they had them on ebay but for the life of me cannot remember the brand name, does anyone have a clue what im talking about.Pink Hair Straightener with rubber tip, what brand are these?

How do you curl your hair with the straighteners?

ive tried but i cant figure out how to do it!How do you curl your hair with the straighteners?
i had htis problem at first to.

You need to clasp a strand of hair within the straighteners and coil it round just like you would with curslers when they have a grip at the bottom to keep your hair in place the grip is the middle of the straighteners. if you hair falls out when you are trying to curl it round try twisting it round the straighteners with your fingers while holding the straighteners vertically.

Hope i could be of some help and hope you get the hang of it i found my straighteners curled my hair better then my curlers! How do you curl your hair with the straighteners?
hold the hair with the straighteners, then firmly holding them together, pull downwards and twist. hold in place for a few seconds and release. it should be curly.
You just get a bit of your hair between the straighteners, and then twist it up towards your head (: hold and then let go.
You need small ones. Like small GHD's

Then you straighten the hair as normal, but curl it while you are straightening it. I hope I explained it okay for you. Like, twist it in your hand while you are doing it.

The way I do my hair is to put the straighter as close to your head as possible, insert a small section of hair and rotate the straighter 180 degrees away from your head and pull towards you in a smooth movement. The slower you pull 鈥?the tighter the curl will be. I use GHD straighter's for mine and this works fine. Good Luck
You can't curl your hair with a straightener. You need curlers or a curling iron.
its called STRAIGHTENER for a reason...
Okkk.. its gonna soung weird when i explain but i wil try my best.

OK put your hair in the straightners you want the hair at the top of your head near the roots not at the end that doesnt wrk.

You then angle it as if you are going to curl it, but you dont, sorrtta twist it, you then hold the other side and slowly pull the hair down keeping it at the same angle. It does work as long as your straightners arent really fat they are quite thin..

Hope this helps i know its prob hard to understand
Start from the root, wrap your hair around it put pulling down at the same time, i hope that makes sense =) x
pull the straightner down your hair and twist at the same time :) instant curl!

ok my hair straightener sucks like heck!!! it will not straighten, no matter how high i put the heat!!! it curls my hair inward, not straightens, and the results from the straightening last about 2 hours before my hair gets horribly curly/wavy again!! my mom refuses to get me a new straightener, because she is convinced that because it was a flippin expensive straightener, it is good. however, i used my friends straightener at her house, and it worked AWSOME!!! my hair looked great for the first time in my life! so thats how i know that im doing everything right with my straightener. is it true that expensiver (i know thats not a word) straighteners work better than non expensive ones? like they automatically work better? i cant convince my mom that mine sux because she tried to straighten my hair herself. it took her 1 hour and my hair curled inward so bad i had to go and wet my hair to get the horrible styling out. i need help here!!!!! ahhhh!!!MY HAIR STRAIGHTENER SUXX!!!! help me!!!?
if it curls inwards its probably how your pulling

make sure your hair is compleatly dry %26amp;%26amp; afterwards put a serum on it and it shouldnt get frizzy

%26amp;%26amp; i agree with above. i love my chi :)MY HAIR STRAIGHTENER SUXX!!!! help me!!!?
have you tried to use a chi straightner they are like 129+ but they are amazing
okay i used to have this problem you arent using it right.....

when you are straightning, pull your hair as tight as you can before you run the straightner down it.......

and .... it should only go curly if you get it wet
For myself, I can say that the expensive ones work better. The best one for me has been The Chi.
    heyy

get a chi it is the best straitener.
Get a CHI!! They are the best...well worth the price! most come with a lifetime guarantee. They make your hair look silky shiny and soft...
yes...i have a GHB hair straightener that cost 250 dollars but it works amazingly well..my hair is down to the middle of my back and extremely thick but i get it straight in about 20 mins...it's so worth the money
    expensive isn't ALWAYS better
yep. you get what you pay for. and that means if you pay more you are more likely to get a better product. just prove it to her that it's useless. and convince her to get u another one. I have the conair infiniti and it was only fifty dollars. soo try something like that if one like a CHI is out of your league. good luck : )
well, i know that my friend's sister went to a tj maxx and got a chi for $10, and it works just like a regular chi, which is amazing, LET ME TELL YOU.
get a job, get a new one.. expensive ones work better and dont kill your hair as much.
ok conair works i have 1 and it was like 20 bucks and it works like a charm go 2 walmart and find 1 a big 1 though and it will work ! try it and c good luck !
hi yea sounds like your hair straightener does suck i have a real expensive hair straightener which works real well it goes to 210 degrees in 10 seconds and straightens first time!!
buy a sedu 2 inch straightener! They are the best! my hair did the same thing until i bought my sedu!
well expensive ones do work better if u get the right ones, CHI is the best one its about $120, there are many kinds that work well, my aunt's a hair stylist and she got me an iron from this salon place for $60 dollars and its great
    ok

Use a clothes iron (yes the one you use to iron towels) and a small hand towel

    let the iron heat up

put your hair between the hand towel and your clothes iron and pull down just like a normal dont rest it on your hair to long or it will singe

this way is heaps quicker and last the same amount of time as normal straigtners

that will do for now you should probably get a new hair straightener
well its not the price its the brand you buy.

try target they have good blowers %26amp; straighteners :]

make sure that its not an iron straightener because this would ruin your hair.

and also dont straighten it too often ,it can ruin your hair.

    hope this helps :]
Yes! The more expensive, the better, that is why they are more expensive. Kind of like cars, the higher price, the overall better and well liked they are. If she ABSOLUTELY wont get you a new hair straightner, you can try asking to get a spray to use while straightening your hair, you can try looking up some online, or just look around at the store. They have tons of sprays that help a little. Or maybe you can bargain and comrpomise with her, like make some type of deal to get a new one. Or even have your friend bring hers over and show your mom how it works? The best hair straightner that almost all my friends use is the Chi. So keep that one in mind if your mom changes hers.
If your hair wants to curl, let it!!!!!!!!!! Curly hair is a ton of fun once you get the hang of it. A nice reference is the book Curly Girl. It's just a small, cheap paperback, but it's really helped.

To tame it a little, begin by throwing away your shampoo, hair dryer, hair straightener, and hair brush. I haven't used any of these for over a year and my hair has never looked better.

In case you want to see some pictures, here are a few to show the difference.

For washing, it works the best for me in the mornings, but often I end up doing it in the evenings. Wet your hair, but don't pull at it. Wash your hair with conditioner- trust me on this one. You should get a bit of conditioner into your hands, then start at your scalp. Make sure to rub your scalp gently and massage it until it's clean. Continue along your scalp and to the ends of your hair. Rince your hair thoroughly, and finish washing. When you're finished, put a little bit more conditioner into your hair. Don't rinse this out. This will keep your hair moist until you start again. If you tend to get an oily scalp, start about an inch down your hair.

When you go to dry your hair, don't touch the hair dryer! This drys out your hair and makes it even frizzier. Take a hand towel and blot your hair by starting at the ends and bringing the towal toward you head. Once it's to the point of just being damp, put some gel onto your hair in the same way. With a little gel, run your hands lightly over the top of your hair to cut back on wispies.

From there, let it dry some more, then style it as you wish. Don't pull the top too tight, or you might end up looking rather strange with the top of your head very smooth, but the curls all disturbed in the back. Relax and let your hair show off. Refrain from rubber hair ties or other things that might ruin your hair.

If you don't get to do this in the morning, have a spray bottle with some water in it. Just lightly dampen your hair, rearrange a little, and you should be good to go! If you're worried about frizz, use a little extra gel. It'll be a little stiff that night, but in the morning it will have loosened up nicely.

It might take a while for your hair to recuperate. My hair took about a week to start really feeling good. I wanted to just have straight, easy hair for most of that time, but now I would never turn back. I've always been a very in-the-box conformist, and my hair gives me a chance to show what I can be. Oh, and you can definitely save by not buying all those expensive appliances and shampoo.
question what kind of straightener do you have anyways..hmm i like chi but sorry to me its okay....bleh, i have a Remington wet 2 straight and it works awesome best straightener ive had so far and only 30 bucks =]..ohh and dont go for bed head it sucks, pretty but sucks

ohh and Conair burns out over time
I came across this straightener today while web browsing and I plan on buying it soon. Here take a look:

    http://www.folica.com/Sedu_Ionic_Cera_r1鈥?/a>

It's gotten a lot of good feedback from girls who own it and it's not that expensive (while on sale)
Well IDK if you have a JCPenny's with a hair place but we do I think you might be able to get these anywhere but I got a straightener from there it works really good the brand is called Hot Rod the straightener style is called Sexy Hair its about 80 dollars it gets like 250 degrees but it has a curve so it straightens and it only heats in like 50 seconds. Right now I have a Babyliss Pro straightener and I hate it. Just don't get Wal-Marty cheap-o straighteners I got this ';straighener'; and ';crimper'; iron at WM for 13 $$$ doesn't do ANYTHING D-= But now I have the Hot Rod. Its good.
Since straighteners are different prices the more expensive ones are going to work better. I have a hair straightener, and I use it all the time. The first one I had broke about a week ago, and I needed another one. So what I did was, I went to Wal-Mart and found the one I want, and got the name and everything. It was a Conair Infinit 2'; straightener. Then I went home got on www.ebay.com, and typed that i. In a store the straightener I wanted was like $55.00. On ebay, I found one for $11.00

How do a guy curl his hair using a straightener?

I've been growing out my hair for a while, and I think it's long enough [not TOO long] to make it waivy because I hate my straight hair.

The thing is, it's hard to get the ';how-to'; directions on the internet because most videos show a girl [with very LONG hair] so that won't work for me...

Your hair is not long enough, so why don't you try to be more patience and your hair will grow out more... Then it'll curl naturally, but if you're still not satisfied, you could always use a STRAIGHTENER to curl your hair since it'll be quite long enough then.

    Hair straightener help?

    Hey everyone,

Does anyone know how to curl your hair with a hot hair straightener, Detailed instructions would b great, thanks.Hair straightener help?
hair straightner ,,,get a curling tong then it wouls curl if you want curling hair.Hair straightener help?
what the!? i dont get your question do you want to straighten your hair or u want it curly??
you can only curl your hair with a straightener if your straighter has curved edges, if the are straight, you will end up with dents.

use it like a normal curling iron if you want tight curls.

for loose curles, start with the curling iron up and wrap the hair around going downwards, when hairs hot, gently pull the iron up more until curl slips out, pin curl to head so that it will cool off while doing other curls and it will keep the curl longer.

it takes lots of muscle strength for this.
They make straighteners that convert to curling irons, otherwise you can't really curl it. What you can do is flip out the ends with it or make the ends look a little wavy. Just straighten as usual then go over the ends layer by layer and twist the straightener outwards to flip. To make the ends wavy its virtually the same thing but you want to twist the straightener in all sorts of directions to give it a not so unified look. Keep in mind to not twist the straightener too sharply so you won't get a kink. Hope this helps and feel free to e-mail or im me for more info!

    Curling Hair with a Straightener???

My grad pictures are tommorow and I wanted to curl my hair. But I don't own a curling iron. So, I was wondering if you could curl your hair with a straightner. How could you do it to get the best results? My straightner heats up to 200 and is designed by Innovia if it helps. Answers are apreciated!Curling Hair with a Straightener???
If you can, go to the Dollar store and get Got2be curlvascious spray

    or something like it

or you can just use hairspray

get a 1 to 1 and 1/4 inch section of hair, clasp it, then turn and KEEP TURNING

    voila!

    repeat

if you don't want your curls to group together to form one huge curl, twist the hair the opposite way

    twist it outwards

then get another section of hair, and twist it toward your neck (but don't burn yourself)Curling Hair with a Straightener???
    yes you can do it!

    it's pretty simple,

just turn it on, place it on a piece of hair at the top just like you were going to straighten it..

and instead of bringing it down like you would to straighten,

    curl it around the straightener

(doesn't make sense? go to www.youtube.com and type in: curling hair with a straightener or something along the lines of that, and there are tons of tutorial-videos that show you EXACTLY what to do and it's so so so easy!)
I wanna know too, just in case I felt like having curly hair for a day. :]
    http://www.wikihow.com/Curl-Hair-with-Straighteners
It is possible and easy. Once you bring the straightener down to the bottom of your hair, roll the straightener up like you would a curling iron and hold it there for half a minute or so, then let go genly
    http://youtube.com/watch?v=k57daS_c_yI

    here you go =]

it explains it well. and there are a billion other videos too to explain.
yes you can!! i've done it before, but it was a skinny straighter. i think a skinny straighter works better than an actual curling iron because the heat settings are higher than a curling iron. so you can curl your hair faster. if you use the straighter, just treat it as a curling iron and it should work!!
They're called ';hollywood curls'; when you use a flat iron to straighten your hair.

They look better than tacky spiral curls i think. Definately more trendy and modern...however very tricky to do. Like that other chic said, find videos on how to do them, it's WAY TO HARD to explain.

    Good luck!
i can do it!!! i have ghd's and they go up to 210 its not that much difference! hold a piece of hair out to the side, hold the straightners at the topa a nd slowly start to slide them down your hair at the same time twist the tongs inwards to your haed keep twisting an movind down. its simple really once you no how!!

WARNING dont go too fast you r hair gets twisted up!! i learnt this lesson the hard way!

its honestly nothard ia m only 13 i can do it perfect !! LOL
grab sections of hair and hold the straightners at top f the section slide the irons in a smooth motion around hair. the ghd web site may be able to give you more info.its all in the wrist movement!!
you cant curl your hair with a straightner

thats why it would be called a straightner not a curler...

    hahahahaha

my hair is just past my shoulders i have GHDs to, basically its dead easy once you have the nack. or so she says lol

put the straightners at the top of your strand of hair pull down and twist side ways. it sounds weird but thats how i do mine and it looks pretty damn good. lol

maybe looking at the vid above is a better idea.
    hi!

you need 2 buy straighteners with a round end which meand you can curl your hair round that.

    i hope that helps!

I tried curling my hair with a straightener... and it like wouldnt go. Its hard to explain but it seemed like it was stuck? my hair is thick and I did not have any product in it. Is it too dry?? I looked up how to do it on youtube and I am pretty sure I am doing it right.... help :(Curling my hair with straightener problema?
i have tried doing that many times with failure every time. i would recommend getting a curlig iron. answer mine?

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>Curling my hair with straightener problema?
Some flat irons are not meant to curl your hair. You need to use one that is small. The ceramic plates should be about an inch in width and the sides need to be curved. Usually the ones that can curl your hair will say they can. I know the CHI does, but that one is quite expensive. It takes practive to get it just right.
I wouldn't try to curl my hair with a straightener unless your only slightly curling the ends, and it's easier to do with a smaller straightener. Such as a 1''.
Try a smaller straightener. Or, wash your hair thoroughly and then try again. You can maybe go to the hairdressers and get an opinion if you want. Good Luck :D

    Please answer mine :)

xoxo :DHow do i curl my hair with a straightener please help fast :( ?
as for curling it think twice about a curling iron, I'd use a flat iron just because its better for you hair, its quicker and easier.

Try this tutorial out so you can see what I''m talking about:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uB1npokA2鈥?/a>

Its for curling ur hair with the flat iron. How do i curl my hair with a straightener please help fast :( ?
Some straightners wont do it. I have the chi and it does it. but curl your hair up the straightner and then open the straightner a little bit and pull it down slowly, so its twisty :)
Turn on your hair straightener and let it heat up.

Comb your hair to get rid of any tangles, as snarls will interfere with the quality of the curls you create. Spray your hair with a thermal styling protectant to shield it from the heat of your hair straightener. The ends of your hair are especially vulnerable, as they are older than the rest of your hair, so make sure they get coated with the styling product to minimize breaking and splitting.

Separate a fine section of hair, about 1/4 inch thick, making sure it is no wider than your hair straightener. Clamp down close to the root or wherever you want the curl to begin on the section of hair. Twist your wrist inward toward your head and hold this position as you slide the hair straightener down the lock of hair. You may make an inward twisting motion again as you reach the ends of your hair, to ensure that the curl is defined, with no odd straight pieces poking out. The slower you slide the straightener down your hair shaft, the tighter the resulting curl; if you want looser waves, slide the flat iron a little more quickly down the section of hair (see Resources for a video).

Repeat Step 3 for the rest of your hair. When you are through, use your fingers to style your hair. Do not use a comb or brush, as these will break down the shape of your newly created curls or make your hair static-y. Finish by misting your hair lightly with hairspray to help your curls retain their shape throughout the day.
put on a glove, wrap hair around straightner, some have smooth edges, use heat protector, wrap hair around loosely/semi tight to be heated, it's time consuming, might be easier to loosely blow dry hair, then use velcro rollers and continue to blow dry/air dry, then brush out, less time consuming than individually doing each piece and hair can be drying while you're getting ready.

    Curling hair with a straightener?

I've seen videos on Youtube of how to curl your hair with a straightener. They wrapped the hair around it, then just pulled it through, and it came out curly. But my hair still comes out straight when I do this. Any better methods? I have a 1 1/2 inch Revlon straightener with one round edge, one flat edge.

Also, is there a way to keep your hair as straight as it gets right after you straighten it? Because mine always goes a little wonky after a few minutes.Curling hair with a straightener?
smaller straighteners work better to curl hairCurling hair with a straightener?
    1) Better method for curling: get a hair curler. You can get seriously amazing results due to the specific design%26amp;function of the curler. That makes it a hell of a lot easier to curl your hair.

    2) For straightening: Try using shampoo, conditioner, and a leave-in hair product that straightens your hair. Then make sure your hair is dry before you straighten it (or else you'll end up burning, frying, and splitting your hair).

For example, Pantene Po-V has a straightening ';comb-in'; cream that's actually part of their EXTRA STRAIGHT line of shampoo, conditioner, and comb-in cream.

Making the straightener really hot will make the straightness last longer, but be careful because it can do more damage to your hair. If you're gonna turn the heat up, then make sure the hot plate on your straightener isn't the kind with a huge slab of metal.
yeahh i do it every morning with my straightner its easssy

i went to coles and bought a $20 straightner and its really kind of small and i ahve like really long hair so really it only works best when you have the right type of straightner ...... but if not your probably only wrapping it around twice ... try wrapping it around as MUCH as it can go it will hurt but beauty is pain XD

    that should work =]=]
try putting it on a higher setting. Thats what happens to me sometimes. I like curling my hair with a straightener best.

use really thin strands of hair, slide the hair into the iron and kind of twist the iron around while you gently slide the iron through your hair. You will probably at best just get flips and waves, not actual curls. You'll have an easier time just going out and buying a curling iron, you can get one for less than $20 at walmart.Curl your hair with a straightener?
watch this..she has really thick hair as well

    =)
ok there is like no way to actually ';curl'; your hair with a straighter but if you trying to make it flair out then grab a strand of hair and bend you hair back in the straightner (like actually pull the straightner like twords the back of you head kinda sideways) and ta da! It makes it flair back! now if you have really thick hair you can go to the salon and have them thin you hair out or if you dont have a lot of extra cash try to buy like a sleek conditioner and it should help make it so its no as thick. good luck!
try small sections and don't be in a rush, whatever you do take your time

theres lots of videos on youtube that will help you. you're better off watching those instead of having someone explaining to you by word, because you can actually see how it's done. :)How do you curl your hair with straighteners?
it will work if you have a 1'; wide straightner. just let your straightner get completely warm and clip your hair between the plates like your straightning it. but then wrap your hair around the straightner like a curling iron. if its too confusing the way i said it, look on youtube. there are great beauty videos that show you step by step how-to.
It it just to curl it like you do with the curler%26lt;3

Curling hair with a chi straightener?

also should i do it in the morning, i dont know how long it will take me ( i ahve a lot of hair so im guessing a while!!)Curling hair with a chi straightener?
    wow,

that's how my hair is too!!

seriously if you try to straight your hair it will take more probably 2-3 hours. but if you have a good STRAIGHTENER that it gets rather hot, AL-OT LESS time if you want i recommend not to because it causes damage and dryness and puffiness (that happen to me and when i washed my hair i got and Afro!! just kidding=P) but IM not kidding of how puffy will get.

What you could do for keeping does curls and less puffy is

DEVA CARE ARC ANGELL, u could get in PENINSULA BEAUTY but i got to admit is a little pricy $17.99. but it works, it tells u tips and it smells gorgeous, it smells like orange but more softer scent.IM going to tell u what to do if u decide to buy it.

#1)wash your hair Shampo/conditioner IT NEEDS TO BE WET!

#2)with towel scrunch hair to remove excess water.

#3)now put gel on both hands and put on hair!! if needed scrunch hair toward the scalp to cultivate curls.

and there you have curly non sticky curly hair=)

this gel do not use it everyday. OK.

or you could do braids on your hair, two or one before you go to sleep and when you wake up is more calm and pretty waves emerge. when i dont use the gel i usually do braids.

    well i guess IM done.

GOOD LUCK!Curling hair with a chi straightener?
Did you start with straightening products? That helps. Then take small sections to straighten.
i want to start off byt saying i no how u feel haha i have alot of frizz too.. when i want my hair wavy but not frizzy i put my hair in a side braid before i go to bed and when i wake up the wave is more defined and less frizzy... to straighten it i would blow dry it first but if u dont do that then apply a thermal hair protection spray then starighten it in small sections when ur done apply a anit-frizz gel or spray my favorite is sunsilk... I watched a video on YouTube of some girls doing this and then I tried it with my straightener... not exactly the same results. I guess you have to use a special type of straightener, so its not really any more convenient than a curling iron. How do you curl your hair with a flat iron??
It is possible. but not with all hair straightners.. like my CHI is a pro and it curls even though its a flat iron. the flat iron is only about an inch wide and it works very well, but if you have a forty dollar 5 inch wide hair straightner, it more than likely wont work. Hope this helped!
Don't listen to those complainers. It IS possible to curl your hair with a straightener, and it turns out very cute if you ask me. Its actually the NEW thing... so everyone who didnt know how to do it... Yeah they dont know whats in. Anyways... You can get step by step instructions at http://www.wikihow.com/Curl-Your-Hair-With-a-Hair-Straightener
you can't cuz it's to straighten.the only other thing is to flip out your hair.(LOL)
i dont know try it maybe like when you curl baloon strings with scissors try it with that kind of motion
No, the only way that would work is if your hair is SUPER fine! Because you would have less hair for the straightener to heat up.
thats wierd, just buy a curling iron
Curling your hair with a flat iron only works if the edges of your iron are rounded. Like not straight, or square. If they are you just need to kinda use it like a curling iron. I flip my ends out using my flat iron by just running the iron down my hair and rolling it up a little at the ends. If you want your hair totally curly I would suggest using hot rollers.
you have to buy the flat iront hat has metal on the far side. that way you can kinda twist your hair while flat ironing it. its kinda hard to explain...
That makes it have a little more body but it doesn't really curl your hair. Flat irons are basicly to flaten your hair and make it straighter. They do have some really good curling irons called solid gold that curl your hair really well. They come in all sizes.
Maybe you are thinking of a curling iron/flat iron combo...? a friend of mine has one. It looks just like a regular curling iron, but if you unlock this little hook it upens into a flat iron. unfortunalty i dont know what it is called or what the brandname is, but im sure you could find it at like Sally's beauty supplies.

other than that i cant think of any way to curl your hair with a flat iron
you can't its a flat iron....!
there are really good straightners that u can also curl ure hair with...its exactly like using a curling iron..just wrap it around..but make sure u let it go straight down...check ure mall to see if theres any stands that sell those really good mildly expensive straightners...its useful to have a two in one going on!
first, try a curling iron. make sure its ceramic, they work way better!

or try washing it and putting in some kind of ';curling'; gel and have it it braids or just scrunch it up with your fingers.
    Uhhh....you don't.

I've tried doing that but my hair got all bent and zig-zagged, trust me it wont curl. You'll probably have to get a curling iron; the small ones cost only like $12.

    Good question anyway though!
A flat iron is exactly that. It straightens hair.

As a hairstylist I have a lot of tools. Curling irons of different sizes and a flat iron.

If you want to curl your hair use a curling iron. Go to a beauty supply and look at the different sizes and find one that suits your need.

CAUTION: Don't burn your hair. Use a thermal protectant on your hair first.

How can I curl my hair so that it will last the whole day?

I can curl my hair with my straighteners, but after a couple of hours it just looks messy. What is the best way to curl my hair to get easy, long lasting curls? How can I curl my hair so that it will last the whole day?
Sponge rollers or rag rollers like grandmas used to have. Trust me....it won't come out until you wash it. You can get them in packs at any drug store. Wash your hair, wait until almost dry, then roll it in the rollers. You can sleep in either one of them. Leave them in until dry, you can use a hair dryer to speed up the process. When you take them out you'll have super curly bouncy hair.

PS: It also helps to put some kind of styling product on your hair, like mousse or gel before you roll it.How can I curl my hair so that it will last the whole day?
    hot rollers
Coming from a curly-head, this is easy. I've never tried it on a straight-head, buuuuut.... if your hair is curly when you wake up in the morning, brush it a couple of times (don't brush it thoroughly, though) and leave it like so for the rest of the day. You can also put head band in or something to make your hair look pretty!
use curlers and put hairspray on whilst on the curlers
You are going to need a curling iron. Take a shower, then when it is still damp, put mousse in it. When it is dry, curl your hair. You are probably going to have to use hair spray to get it to stay.

Or you can do the same process, just use sponge curlers instead.
    i have 2 answers :P :

buy some rollers and sleep in them they stay in for lyk 10 hours

u cud also tonge your hair on the night time before bed (if you spray with hairspray it stays in beter but you dont have 2) then put a hat on or something like that so you cant see any of your hair then take it out in the morning and its dropped a litte but its still really curly
Hair spray, after every curl x
Seriously, i have Curly-ish hair and have to straighten it. WHY WOULD YOU WANT CURLY HAIR! It's a curse
Get some old fashioned curlers lol honestly they are great. They last for ages. Dont forget the hair spray!!
use setting lotion on your hair.
I agree with bridie answer rags or sponge curlers then style in morning with curling hair products

    good luck

Thanks. How to curl my hair with a straightener so that the curls are like this...?
if you have a thin one not a wide one

Spray hair with heat protectant spray and comb through. This creates a protective barrier between the hair and the iron so that the hair doesn't 'frizzle' and burn. Therefore, this is highly recommended.

Brush you hair thoroughly. Section hair: starting at the nape of your head (that is, the part closest to, or on, your neck), estimate an imaginary line 1-inch above the back hair line. Section away and clip up all the remaining hair. You should be left with an inch-thick section of hair closest to the hairline.

From this remaining section of hair, take an inch meche. That is, the piece you've just separated should now be an 1-inch x 1-inch square x length of hair. Note: The size of the section you take influences the size and crispness of the curl. Smaller sections make smaller, tighter curls, and more of them. Large sections make large, lose curls and few of them. The inch x inch is a guide.

    For Flicks:

Start half-way down the length of hair, clamp the iron closed and turn it back on itself in a half turn. You should now have created a U-shape with the hair and the iron. Keeping the iron on that half-turn angle, slowly move it down the hairshaft to the end of the hair. The faster you move the iron, the less pronounced the curl/flick will be.

鈼or Curls: Start fairly close to the scalp (but not close enough to accidentally burn it), clamp the iron closed and turn it back on itself a half turn (the same as with flicks). Run the iron slowly down the hairshaft to the end. Again, the slower you move the iron, the tighter the curl. The faster you move the iron, the gentler the wave.)

Move onto the next inch x inch section. Once you've finished an entire row, section the next inch-wide row and then make your smaller sections to curl.

Finish with hairspray or laquer. How to curl my hair with a straightener so that the curls are like this...?
You will need a curling iron for that particular hair do...

    steps.

    1. you will have to flatten your hair first.

    2. part your hair they way you would want to wear and when you take each piece that you want to curl you will have to hold the curling iron and wrap your hair around it backwards. Do not curl is backwards because it won't produce the same affect.

    3. use hair spray or which ever product you use to style and hold your hair.

    I hope that this helps. ; )

I looked it up on youtube a few weeks ago when i needed to curl my hair, and came across this video..i used her technique of straightening it once, and then wrapping it once around the flat iron and twisting the iron and going down. It looks more like the first style on my hair..it may differ on yours.
I'm pretty sure they used curling irons for those hair styles. Straighteners make your hair zig zagyish usually.
big barrelled curling iron, not flat iron
    like it up on youtube.

    they have a buncha tutorials

Can anyone tell me how to curl shoulder length hair with ghd straighteners that lasts a long time?

I just bought a pair of ghd straighteners and I want to curl my hair but I find it difficult and I am having problems. I find it sometimes goes curly to begin with and then goes straight within an hour does anyone know why this is? Sometimes I find the left part of my hair but sometimes the right part isnt.

I am grabbing it near the root and turning it 180 degrees and then pulling down and twisting back up.Can anyone tell me how to curl shoulder length hair with ghd straighteners that lasts a long time?
    Hey,

I find using mousse helps to keep curls in very very well, lol! Also after you have made a curl in your hair, pin it to your head with a bobby pin and release it when your hair has COMPLETELY cooled. This will keep your curls in untilyou wash your hair. Hairspray is okay, but don't use to much - curls look better when they can bounce!

Hope this helps, and goodluck! :-)Can anyone tell me how to curl shoulder length hair with ghd straighteners that lasts a long time?
Well, you have the right technique but you need to use hairspray. Hairspray while you are curling your hair on top of a final spray to finalize.

Does anyone know about the hair straightener brand HairStyler?

I was in Westefields the other day, walking with my friends, when a guy from a stand asked me if I wanted to try the HairStyler hair straightener. I said ok and he made a curl in my hair. Then he said the HairStyler is better than GHD and he gave me his card to come back that day and buy for a discount. However, on the card there was no website. • Curl your hair with a straightener????

heyy well i have always heard from my friends and other people that you can curl your hair with a straightener. whenever i try it makes dents in my hair and it just looks horrible. does anyone know how to do this and make it look good, and like it would if you used a curling iron?Curl your hair with a straightener????
a straighter STRAIGHTENS your hair dummy. not curl it!!!!!!!!!Curl your hair with a straightener????
look on youtube they have a tutorial on how to do it.
go back n forth with it
Yes! Absolutely! I did and it works great!!!
You cant make it look good
You have to use a really skinny flat iron
just use a curling iron, seriously.
    Don't click this

    http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=H0claHSPxQ8
    try searching it on google?
just curl a bit of hair as if waiving it
    you twist.
it is possible but it doesnt turn out good for me haha
you have to use a smaller straightener... you wrap the hair you want to curl around the straightener once (not completely) and let it go down. there's a video that shows you how to do it on youtube.
Yes. It is way better than the old burn your skin curling iron.
you have to have a cetain curling iron to do this it has to a a cuve in it to cur you hair and your most likeley better off using a curling iron
You could try twisting a bit of hair around your finger, like a pin-curl, but instead of pinning it, put it in the straightener to set it with heat.

    Hope this helps!
Yeah don't listen to them. You're just totally ruining your hair and you're ruining the whole point of a S-T-R-A-I-G-H-T-E-N-E-R. Understand? Straighteners are to STRAIGHTEN hair, not curl it!!! Use a regular curling iron. Sheesh. Dents in your hair is bad bad bad bad badddd. Don't do it again!
it really depends on what kind of straightener you're using. some just won't do that. I suggest a Chi. They're the best for stuff like that.
this is a good tutural video from youtube on how to do it.

    hope i helped
here is a tutorial i found on youtube.com

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfoihBOzP1I
    take it pull it all the way to your ends then roll it;

    its simple.
you twist it while you straighten it
depends on wat size it is

is it a 1 2 inch or more

mi freind has a small one and it works really good

just use it like a normal curling iron
take small sections of your hair

then roll it in your straightener, make sure your straightener is 1 inch!!

then, when its rolled, hold it for like 10-20 seconds then let go

    dont forget hairspray
look on YouTube. I tried it too. LOL
you have to use the small ones though not those big fat very wide flat irons!
Sometimes I put some mousse in my hair and use my wet to straight straightener. I wrap parts of my hair around the straightener and then I just let it go. If that doesn't work you can always just flip your hair out, sometimes you just have a bad hair day. Can't do much about that. Try not to sleep with your hair wet, it doesn't help.
You can check out this video on YouTube

How to make your curls more curly with a Hair Straightener?(that can also curl)?

ok my hair is curly already but ive seen some people who's curls look more curly and cuter and i want to get my curls/waves more curly and all i got is my Hair Straightener i ran out of moose and hair spray. plz tell me a way to get my curls cuter? for new yearsHow to make your curls more curly with a Hair Straightener?(that can also curl)?
Okay well first off, I use a hair straightener to curl my hair. I have a curler but I prefer the straightener. What you do is you start from the root and you put your straightener on there, then you pull down and twist it and the same time. I do this when I want to curl my hair and the curls come out beautiful!

Good Luck! :]How to make your curls more curly with a Hair Straightener?(that can also curl)?
you could try wrapping your hair around the hot plates...or put it at a very steep angle...i'm not sure you can curl with any straightener but there are straighteners out there that both curl and straighten
Take sections of your hair (the smaller the sections, the tighter the curls but the longer it takes), I suggest about half an inch thick, and twist it (like you were bored and playing with your hair). Once it's completely twisted, press the straightener onto your twisted piece and hold it there for about 15 seconds. Move down the twisted piece with the straightener until you have pressed the entire length of the section. I like to hold the piece up with a hair clip while I do the rest of my hair (to keep it out of my way and to hold the curl). Once my whole head is done i spray hairspray and sit for a few more minutes. When you're ready, remove all the clips, flip your hair over and tousle your hair to unwrap the curls! I hope that made sense and helped!

How do you loosely curl hair?

I'm really bored of having my hair straight all the time, but whenever I use curling tongs or whatever to curl my hair, where my hair is so thick and long I just look like a big weird poodle. Is there a way of having like slightly curly hair without so much volume.. and would curling with my straighteners make the curls looser and less dramatic? Also I have a fringe so would that make my hair look stupid? How do you loosely curl hair?
To get loose curls here what I do:

Wash your hair and put big rollers in your wet hair and go to bed.

    Or..

Pin your hair up in sections

Curl it with a big curling iron

Then take another section of your hair and repeat process.

    thanks :)

i need to know as soon as possibleHow do you curl you hair with a straightener?
I learned by watching this video. She explains it really well.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUhBCcbr9鈥?/a>How do you curl you hair with a straightener?
its called a straightener for a reason, so use a curling iron
Er, you're supposed to use a CURLER to curl your hair!

    Straighteners make your hair straight!
its kinda hard to explain without actually showing you. go on youtube and search for a video.

but basically you get those kinks because your jerking the iron. like, not running it through your hair smoothly.
get your hair wet and use the straightener. make sure you use it like a real curler.
I believe you close it and then wrap the hair around the whole straightener correct?
ummm.....you don't. The only curl you could give it is a little flip at the bottom if you have a really thin straightener, and that is just to give it body. there is no way to curl your hair with a straightener
You start from where you want the curl to start from the scalp and then you roll your straightener while pulling it down on a vertical angle. Keep it together with hair spray...you should also put hair lotion or hair wax before you start to keep the form.
    Hiya

if you type it in on youtube

    there will be demo's

    i tried it

but if u carnt do that

clasp the hair at the top and kind of twist the starightner and just pull down

im not very good at explaining

soo it will probably be better on youtube :)
i've seen it done before. you i believe wrap it around the flat.

    i'm not sure though
make sure its a really thin straightener. and make sure you're always moving the iron at a consistent slow pace. keeping it in one place for too long gives it those kinks.

Heres an article that might help:

    http://www.ehow.com/how_2085831_curl-hai鈥?/a>

For all you doubters, it is possible. I do it all the time- it gives more natural waves then a curling iron.
ok, u should comb ur hair first and straighten ur hair, after uve done that take ur straighter, clamp it on a section of your hair, curl it in once so a different side of the straightner is against ur head, and pull it pull it down! tada!
well stupid try using at curler!!!!

maybe try folding ur hair in the thing!!!!!

    idk
    Look here:

    http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=GfoihBOzP1鈥?/a>
Make sure you have a small base, it will curl better then an iron that is wide.Maybe 2';. Put the hair between the 2 plates and like a curling iron, turn the hair under (or over) and keep it turned as you go down the the shaft. When you get to the end, use it just like a curling iron and put the hair around it.Small, thin sections and small base iron.
It is a STRAIGHTENER so just buy a curling iron
YOU DON'T! It is called a straightner for a reason! To straighton yoru hair! If you want to curl it try using a curling iron! :)

    Happy Halloween!
it wld be better if u get a curling iron but i do give mild curls in my hair with a straitgher but then tht requires a lot of practice

i staigten em 1st then i have a thin straighter i roll my hair around it but i dont hold it to tight otherwsie rather than having curls it wil have STEPS in it

    Great videos! :] Good luck
First, get a section of hair that is about the same width as your flat iron.

Make sure that your sectioned hair is smooth without any 'flyaways'

Next, starting at the top of the section pull the iron through in a smooth, fluid motion going slow enough to actually smooth the hair, but not so slow that you are burning your hair.

The trick is to pull the iron straight out instead of toward your face or to the back or whatever. Just pull the iron straight out away from your head.

When you get to the end of the section, twist the flat iron so that your hair gets curled (entwined), hold for just a few seconds and let go.

AFTER the hair cools give it a hairspray spritz

Voila! you have a nice curl.

ps....... you might want to look into products made to protect your hair from the heat and provide 'hold'
use curler not straightner. you can borrow my curler.

How to curl hair with straighteners?

......How to curl hair with straighteners?
First pointer your straightener cant have wide pallets or your curls might look a little loose.

1- Grab a section of your hair

2- Take the straightener and place it on your hair next to the crown.... leave about an inch from the scalp you don't want to burn your hair.

3- Twist the straightener downwards and do a semi circle not a full circle

4- keep the straightener in that position and straighten down to the tip (as if you were actually straightening your hair straight.)

It works for me.... remember the more hair you grab at once the looser the curl, the less hair the tighter the curl.

Hope It helps :)How to curl hair with straighteners?
it only really works with ghds do you have them?
    ';how to make ice on the stove?';
Just twirl your hair around the straightener works perfectly for me
Do you mean, how do you use a flat iron to curl your hair?

As you flat iron your hair, when you get to the end, start twisting the hair around the wand part of the flat iron until you get to the crown of your head.
Easier than straightening hair with curlers I should think.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6GGRKAn5鈥?/a>

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffu1BmJGA鈥?/a>
Well... ya can't exactly fully curl it, but you can like give it a flip at the end if ur hair is like long (shoulder length). So you have to twirl the straightener in your hand, so it like wraps around the piece of hair. Keep the straightener there for a few secs... it'll work out :)
what kind of straightner do you have?

cuz it depends small or large.
IT DOESNT WORK YOU WILL RUIN YOUR HAIR DONT DO IT
section the hair into small sections

hold the straightens up right and from the top of the piece of hair turn the straightners but keep them upright and pull down to the end of hair

Dont worry if it doenst go rights at first

    keep trying

    X
    it only works with ghds

basically you just get the ghd, get a strip of hair and wrap it round the ghd once and then pull it down the rest of the hair!
You need a straightener whit round barrels GHD are my favourite.

you like clamp the straightners on a peice of hair like you are about to straighten it, then you twist the straightners away or towards you, until you have ran out of hair, its quiet hard to explain so just experiment with them until you acheive the look you want! , hope it helped lol x

you can curl your hair with a straighter in many ways, you can flip n twist it around the straighter while straighting it :)

You need to buy a good curling iron-not a cheap one because your curls wont stay. I suggest Sephora, they have really good ones there

just use a curler its easier than a straightener and has better results.
If you have a flat-iron that's about 1-inch wide, it's super easy. Section your hair off, starting on one side by your ears, grab random pieces, and starting at the mid part of the strand you grabbed, turn your flat-iron clockwise, or counter-clockwise. Remember to keep moving through the hair, don't ';hold it on'; like you would with a curling iron. Basically, it's like making ';spiral motions'; through your hair to curl it up.
You have to wrap your hair around the straighteners to get full curls

and to make it curly at the bottom you have to flick the straighteners the way you want your curl to go when you get the the bottom of your hair
you mean a flat iron? Just keep rolling it up like you would a curling iron

    How to curl hair easily?

i don't know how to curl my hair. ive tryed so many times with hair curlers and straighteners, but i guess im retarded and cant figure it out for myself. can you give me any advice? How to curl hair easily?
Get those rollers that get heated. My cousin did that for her birthday and it turned out really good. How to curl hair easily?
    just use a curling iron
try using curling gel and mousse and stuff. then scrunch it and let it dry naturally (don't blow dry it).
This is going to sound strange but it works very well for me.

First put all your hair in a pony tail basically on the top of your head, then curl all the pieces in the pony tail. Once you are done with that take out the pony tail and let the hair fall. Then you can hairspray it and mess with it till you like it :) I hope this works for you!!!!
try looking up on youtube, curling with straightener or curling with curler
well i watched my sister and she curls it but dont let the top go hold the iron there fir 5 seconds
hair is easier to curl when its not freshly washed so dont wash your hair on the day you want it done (or at least thats what the hair dresser told me when i booked an appt to get my hair done b4 my ball). use a good curling iron and hold it there like 30 seconds or something then let it set and spray with lots of hair spray.

kinda depends on the type of hair you have i guess..

I usually take my straightener %26amp; flip the top layers. So it's more noticeable. It's really cute.

For those who are good with curling hair with a straightener...?

I have a 2'; flat iron and my curls usually turn out something like this (ignore the length):

    http://www.latest-hairstyles.com/gallery鈥?/a>

Basically kind of big and bulky and curls inwards.

But I wanted to know if anyone knows how to get curls that look more like this, looser and doesn't have that curled/rolled look:

    or

    (minus the gel/spray) http://www.latest-hairstyles.com/gallery鈥?/a>

I know it's possible with my straightener because it came out like that by accident only once, on just one piece of hair. I have no idea what I did though. For those who are good with curling hair with a straightener...?
To be honest I don't know how to obtain that with a straightener but you can get a look like that by using product. When your hair is wet put in gel and moose and scrunch your hair with a wet cloth. for tighter curls scrunch a lot for looser curls like you want scrunch less and play with it a little with your handsFor those who are good with curling hair with a straightener...?
A loose spiral perm will do it. Otherwise mousse or gel is neccessary I think. Good Luck
    its easy

    1) take some of your hair place the strightner right at the top of the hair( root )

    2)place the strightner horizontally

3)hold the end of the hair(the tip)

    4) move the strightner down slowly dont let go of the tip of the hair..... (the slower you move the tighter the curl )
