What technique do you use to curl your hair with hair straighteners?

Especially for layered hair, basically how do you use your straightners to curl your hair?What technique do you use to curl your hair with hair straighteners?

start at the top [or wherever you want the curl to start and as you pull in down spin the straightners slowly continue pulling as you would when straightening.

You rotate it while going down. (Kinda hard to explain.)

Straighten it first, and then, while straightening it, wrap the hair around the straightener, while it is clinched onto your hair. I saw it on t.v randomly.
If you have long hair it'll work a little better, unless you have a 2'; straightener. If you have a 1'; straightener you twirl your hair around it and hold it for about 10 seconds.
Weird that you want to use a hair straightener to curl your hair.
